Unemployment remains worse since 1940, and more lies.

I’m sick of everyone talking about the ‘recovery’ because it is still not happening.

Here are the REAL unemployment numbers that haven’t been tinkered by the current administration.

It is holding steady at 12%

For those paying attention, this is the worst since 1940.

In addition, personal income and wealth is still dropping for the vast majority of americans.

This is made even worse by the outright lies about inflation, which is currently stuck at 10%.

http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/inflation-charts

So of the people that ARE working, median income fell during the past 4 years by 5%, using fake inflation numbers.  Lets just say the adjustment was half, so the median income fell 2.5%, and over the same period, prices are up about 40%. Basically this means people are making TWO THIRDS of what they were 5 years ago!!! This is INSANE.  We must hold these people responsible for their lies.

God’s Providence and Love Trump the Law

1 Cor 7:17 Only, as the Lord has assigned to each one, as God has called each, in this manner let him walk. And so I direct in all the churches. 18 Was any man called when he was already circumcised? He is not to become uncircumcised. Has anyone been called in uncircumcision? He is not to be circumcised. 19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but what matters is the keeping of the commandments of God. 20 Each man must remain in that condition in which he was called.

Verse 19 is fascinating.  Circumcision is certainly a commandment of God. Sure Jesus explained what the greatest commandments are back in Matt 22

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”

And showed us how these principles work in real life, particularly as His love for people was more important than obedience to the Sabbath.   But this particular passage is very interesting because it speaks to thing that only affect self.  Paul calls for each of us to “remain,” rather than strive to become legalistic.  He goes on to apply this to being a slave or free, which I think applies to our vocations as well.  Christ certainly said that anyone who forsakes their own family and belongings to follow him would reap great rewards, but it seems the vast majority of us are in another boat, and in the words of a late friend, ‘bloom where you are planted.’

Be motivated primarily by by Love.  God is Love.  This is walking in the Spirit.

Malls are now Athiest?

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/08/05/women-ordered-to-stop-praying-inside-mall/

I guess the mall is private property, but this is quite absurd, and I would certainly not return or go to any place that restricted prayer over the food.  And in response to the ISIS troll on the comments, I have no problem if a muslim prays over their food.  Now if the muslim forces someone to pray to allah or die, THEN we have a problem.

Test of a true Discipler

And Paul said, “Whether short or long, I would to God that not only you but also all who hear me this day might become such as I am—except for these chains.” Acts 26:29.

The apostle Paul followed Jesus example, and wanted all to be saved and follow Christ to the best of their ability.  He wanted better for ALL the people that heard him, and that was why he spread the gospel so clearly and loudly.  We should all follow teachers that are clear that they want everyone to be closer to Jesus.  Pastor Duke had a great example yesterday of someone who reamed him out when he was a new believer, claiming he was a wolf in sheep’s clothing.  Janice gave me a similar example over the weekend of a converted town drunk that was not allowed to join a church due to no one believing him.  Yes in both cases God used these instances to grow the people who were denied access by the leaders who misused their authority.  However, this does not mean that we should follow and repeat the error of those who hoard and lord spiritual knowledge, controlling who has access to the deeper meat of the word.  True believers will praise the Lord for all who follow him, even if they grow faster or beyond their teachers.  As disciples ourselves, seek out selfless teachers who want the best for their students.  As teachers, we need to be very clear that this is our goal and desire, that we should be abundantly close and growing closer to Christ, and that we should desire all should be as we are (except for our specific suffering circumstances).

The origin of Blue Laws

15 In those days I saw in Judah some who were treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sacks of grain and loading them on donkeys, as well as wine, grapes, figs and all kinds of loads, and they brought them into Jerusalem on the sabbath day. So I admonished them on the day they sold food. 16 Also men of Tyre were living [k]there who imported fish and all kinds of merchandise, and sold them to the sons of Judah on the sabbath, even in Jerusalem. 17 Then I [l]reprimanded the nobles of Judah and said to them, “What is this evil thing you are doing, [m]by profaning the sabbath day? 18 Did not your fathers do the same, so that our God brought on us and on this city all this trouble? Yet you are adding to the wrath on Israel by profaning the sabbath.”

19 It came about that just as it grew dark at the gates of Jerusalem before the sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut [n]and that they should not open them until after the sabbath. Then I stationed some of my servants at the gates so that no load would enter on the sabbath day. 20 Once or twice the traders and merchants of every kind of merchandise spent the night outside Jerusalem. 21 Then I [o]warned them and said to them, “Why do you spend the night in front of the wall? If you do so again, I will [p]use force against you.” From that time on they did not come on the sabbath. 22 And I commanded the Levites that they should purify themselves and come as gatekeepers to sanctify the sabbath day. For this also remember me, O my God, and have compassion on me according to the greatness of Your lovingkindness.

-Nehemiah 13 NASB

So not only did the people of Israel not work on the sabbath, but they realized that they should not enable others (even unbelievers) to work on the sabbath.  In fact, they threatened them with force if they showed up at the city trying to sell on the sabbath.  This is very interesting indeed.
